Treasure Depths

Treasure Depths drops you beneath the waves and puts a clock on everything. Dive through underwater caverns, plunder treasure chests, and find your way back to the surface before your air runs out.

That's the Word Dungeon formula underwater: place letters, spell words, find your way through a hand-drawn map. Each word connects to the last, building a path down through the caverns and back up to your ship. Treasure Depths just gives you fifteen words to do it in.

Air is everything. You start with fifteen bubbles on your oxygen tracker. Every word costs one. Spot a bubble in the caverns, incorporate it into a word, and buy yourself three more. Every decision about where to go next is also a decision about whether you can afford to get there.

The deeper you go, the harder it gets to come back. Cross a depth line and you can't return above it until you hit the ocean floor. Plan your descent. Know your route back up.

You're also tracking every letter you use. The depth gauge runs down the side of the map, divided into four sections covering the full alphabet. Use letters, cross them off. Complete a section and score it. Miss letters and the sections below it won't count, however complete they look.

To win, create a connected path from ship to ocean floor and back up to the surface. Get out with air to spare and your score climbs. Linger too long and you'll be sleeping ont he sea bed.
