The Split Crypt

The Split Crypt divides a dungeon into twin wings and sends you down both at once. Alternate words between a Left Crypt and a Right Crypt, building two paths simultaneously through chambers, past treasure, and down to the Boss Chamber below where the Ettin waits.

That's the Word Dungeon formula at its core: place letters, spell words, find your way through a hand-drawn dungeon. Each word connects to the last, building a path until you face the boss and get out. The Split Crypt just makes you do it twice at the same time.

The two paths aren't independent though. Echo the same word across both crypts on a single turn and score points for every letter. Find antonyms and use them to surround the Ettin for a bonus that could swing your final score.

Both paths must converge to win. Your words need to form a ring around the Ettin in its lair. Close the loop, confuse the beast, escape with your treasure.

The Split Crypt comes with five map variants, including a blank multilanguage edition so you can play in any language you like.
